Huge congratulations are due to Senpai Joseph Brosnahan (far right, back row), Senpai Steve Howden (third on right, back row) and Senpai Zoë Jaquiery (centre, back row) of Seido Dunedin for completing their recent promotions in fine style.
Jun Shihan Mike Higgs of Timaru dojo took the shodan promotion on Saturday 29 June; alongside Senpai Joseph two candidates each from Temuka and Geraldine dojo also gained their 1st dan blackbelts.
The nidan (2nd dan) promotion of Senpai Steve and Senpai Zoë took place early on Sunday 30 June with Hanshi Renzie Hanham from Seido Shibu Christchurch presiding over their grading.
There was a great atmosphere as other karateka came to support the candidates as well as participate in Timaru dojo’s annual mid-winter training weekend.
